In the original Hebrew, Genesis 1:1 uses the word "elohim" -- "In the beginning, the GODS created the heavens and earth..."

You have to understand -- Christianity started out as a Canaanite mystery cult, and Yahweh (who would eventually morph into the Christian god) was actually one of a whole pantheon of gods -- the god of lightning, to be precise. It also explains why he goes on to tell Moses that he's "a jealous god" and that "there shall be no other gods before me"....it doesn't really jibe with the New Testament assertion that theirs is the only one true god and that all other religions are "false gods" -- it's just psychotic to be jealous of imaginary beings.

You'd think that after all these years, they'd have re-edited this stupid book so it would be internally consistent....

There is one God created by 3 individuals, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Gen. 1:26 And God said, let us make man in our image.(Gen. 3:22; I John 5:7)
Not only our looks but also the same way God is made up we have a Mind Body and Spirit that work together same as the Trinity 3 supernatural powers working as one.

In the bible there are three types of Gods,

1. The one true God,

Deut. 6:4, John 17:3

2. False gods:

Cor 4:4, Baal, Satan, Zeus.

3. Those called gods.

Moses, Judges of Israel, Jesus

Ex. 7:1, Ps 82:6, John 1:1

The third group are might ones, and not to be worshiped.

The Father, Son and Holy Spirit is like the soul, the body and the works in a single person.

Swedenborg states:

"The idea of God, with all conception of Him, having been thus rent asunder, it is my purpose to treat, in their order, of God the Creator, of the Lord the Redeemer, and of the Holy Spirit the Operator, and lastly of the Divine trinity, to the end that what has been rent asunder may be again made whole; which is done when the reason of man is convinced by the Word and by light therefrom that there is a Divine trinity, and that the trinity is in the Lord God the Savior Jesus Christ, like the soul, the body, and what goes forth from these, in man; and that thus this article in the Athanasian Creed is true:"

"In Christ God and man, or the Divine and the Human, are not two, but are in one person; and as the rational soul and the flesh are one man, so God and man are one Christ." -- True Christian Religion n.4[3]:

THE GOD OF HEAVEN IS THE LORD

First of all it must be known who the God of heaven is, since upon that all the other things depend. Throughout all heaven no other than the Lord alone is
acknowledged as the God of heaven. There it is said, as He Himself taught,

That He is one with the Father; that the Father is in Him, and He in the Father; that he who sees Him sees the Father; and that everything that is holy goes forth from Him (John 10:30, 35; 14:9-11; 16:13-15).

The Hebrew word for God used in Genesis 1 is Elohim. El means God and Elohim means a plural unity like "one cluster of grapes." Therefore, God saying, Let Us make man in Our image" is grammatically correct.

1 John 5:7, "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."

This may be a serious question, but I have answered it twice already this week! But usually they are trying to refute the Trinity, so at least you have found an original way to ask.

The Lord God is indeed One. BUT. That One has chosen to approach mankind in three forms. Those three forms are the reason He can say 'us'. Like the ancient Greek actors, God has several 'personas', or masks, that He uses to describe Himself to our limited intelligence. The children of Abraham know Him as YHWH, the Father of all creation. But in order to better explain Himself to us, another facet, or persona, of God took on flesh and dwelt among us. Once that mission was accomplished, in order to participate in each of our lives personally, He took the form of the Holy Spirit. One God. Three forms, or Persons.
Hope that helps.

Some Christians beleive that God was talking to Jesus and the Holy Spirit, while others believe that God had already created the angels and was talking to them, but if you believe that only God creates, then God talking to jesus and the Holy Spirit is the more logical answer because God, Jesus, and the Holy spirit are all one God according to Christians.

According to the Hebrew Bible, there are multiple gods, but only YHWH is worthy of the Hebrew people's worship. ("I am a jealous god." YHWH doesn't say that there are no other gods, just that the Hebrews can't worship the others.)

The standard answer from a trinitarian will be that YHWH is speaking here in the three-as-one capacity. The rest will say that this is the royal "we" like some kings and queens used.

imo there's 1 God. He's not the god of christians, or muslims, or buddists, or any other, He's all of them. each 1 of these groups think theirs is the 1 n only, and each is SURE of it. they limit the possibilities of God n think they are the only 1s who really know God. like they're so special. like americans -of which im 1- are so fortunate to have the 1 true religion, christianity, so prevalent throughout thier society. the poor people who live in countries dominated by say islam are truly unfortunate. would God really do that. honestly, intelligently, n logically, would God make himself so readily available to 1 group of people and forsake all the others? look at how close the core aspects of each is related. if u haven't u might b surprised. so, i say there's 1 God who shows Himself in a different light to different people.

none....every so called god since the begining of our history has been a fabrication of our own thought! egyptians believe this, muslims that- christianity has the biggest majority of followers now, and its because for some reason every human has it inside themselves to conclude that there must be more out there- there must be an exinstince beyound this life- i could never believe that! why? why would a spiritual "god" create us in it's image to live, and than to die- if the bible is true than every human that lived before jesus never went to heaven, moses, noah, etc...
