OK boys and girls im going for the best answer on this..
What you have is called a "Ganglion Cyst" most doctors can remove them, they will use an 18 gauge needle to stick in the swollen area and then drain tha area most doctors will prick you 3-4 times before to numb that area if your in the militray I advesied you go off base becuase they will not numb you .It considered fraud and waste so they just stick you. Be advised 60% of of all cyst will come back.

I haven't but it seems pretty straight forward, from what I've read.
"Surgical treatment involves bursting the ganglion simply by putting pressure on it after puncturing it in several places with a needle or draining the jelly-like contents with a needle. A surgical procedure is regarded as unnecessary in most cases, but if the ganglion is painful and does not respond to drainage, it can be removed surgically."

I've never had it done but maybe you could research it online some before you go, ask the doctor a lot of questions about the procedure and his experience, etc. Good luck!

yes, i had one on the base of my neck. It hurt like hell all the time, so finally went in, and now nothing there. and you don't have to go to a plastic surgeon to have it drained, just go to your local hospital.

I had one drained from my boob once, and they have to put you out for that.. but on your wrist they probably will just do local anestethetics (sp?)
