it mainly depends on what you breathe for air...

the nose has among other things the function to filter your breathing air from mechanical impurities... like dust and pollen. these filter remains accumulate in your nostrils, get covered in mucus and expelled by the next sneeze.
now if you eat your nosepickings, you eat exactly what the nose filtered out before.
of course that isnt so bad, really. remember the nose filtered it out to prevent it from reaching your lungs. in your stomach this residue is much less dangerous, anything living in it is going to be killed buy stomach acid.
and there is your answer... eating your nosepickings does transport anything from yor nose to your stomach, well packaged in dried mucus... and NOT back into your throat.
besides, where those 'good' bacteria came from, there are a lot more. absolutely no need to recycle them.

on the other hand... most children DO eat their nosepickings, until their parents disuse them from it, as do other primates. there seems to be an instinct to do so, and that usually means there is a good reason for it.

i will be damned i if i know it though :)
anyway... eating your nosepickings is maybe disgusting, but most likely not harmful, and just maybe even healthy.

Hey man, don't you know it's bad table manners to pick your
nose and eating it. If you do it in my hometown, you'll be driven
out without any food to eat all at. Besides, only the ignorant and
stubborn type of people will do it.

It may not be bad for you, but for others it's an eye sore

I don't know if it is healthy or not, but if you are going to do it then you should do it in the privacy of your home. If that is bascteria you dont want to spread it around to other people. Especially if its not theirs.

which nose again? yours? well as long as you don't pick noses that aren't properly prepared.. fresh produce noses you have to wash them down and if they're questionable then cook them thoroughly... remember noses aren't high in calories but they do have alot of fats.. and trans fats...

so well if you eat too many yes they're not good for you.

so pick the nose wisely and remember to follow all guidelines in preparation of your nose.

avadanza!

I know a couple of people who do this, and don't seem to have any effects. I have been told that you can release harmful bacteria back into the body, so I wouldn't recommend it.

Not bad for you but it is for the person you are with and who is watching you!
Besides, it does spread germs if you touch anything with a "bogey" on your finger.

Picking YOUR NOSE is probably good for YOU. But not for normal people.

Why not pick your nose and store your 'finds'. Then when you have enough make a nice big boogey pie with chips and peas, mmmmm.
