My boyfriend's eyes are getting really bad lately, and he needs to get them checked out. Knowing that he may need to get glasses (or something more extreme), he just wants to find a free consultation.

Does anybody know of good places that are free??

Thank you very much =)

Must of the optic centers do the exam for free if you are going to buy the glasses there, so pick up a place where the glasses sold are what your boyfriend like and make the exam for free... If he do not needs glasses you wont be charged...

DMV? hahaha..by then it would be too late, and he may forfeit his license.

Some insurance plans have wellness clauses that pay for routine care such as physicals, eye exams, dental exams, and gyno visits. If he has insurance, tell him to check his policy. Mine gives $200 every calender year. If I didn't need contacts or glasses (unlikely to the point of miraculous) the money would go to the exam, and I could choose sunglasses, cosmetic contacts, or fashion glasses, paying only the amount left after the $200 is spent. My friend from work gets a pair of weird contacts every year at Halloween time, FREE due to this policy.

"Eye year optical" im not sure if you have one in your area but they are pretty big around the southeast region. Be warned they will try to hound you so if you just want the free consultation then give them a fake phone number when they ask for you to fill out the form.
OR you could join the military its free the only downfall is you will have an 4 to 6 year obligation.

I PITY the fool with bad eyesight and doesn't get it fixed.

Call your local public services provider, like for medicaid and the like and they should tell you. Also, most clinics may have a walk in clinic time every day or once a week, so call around and see who does. That may help.

You get exactly what you pay for. In this case, nothing. Eye exams are pretty cheap. Go to your local WalMart. Costs about $50.

Do you have a university near you that has an optometry school? That is a good place to go.
