This seems a silly question but i was making my fella a cuppa when he sais 'no wonder i cant taste the sugar in my tea you dont stir it the right way'! eh? i didnt think it mattered as long as you give it a good stir to make sure the sugar disolved! does it matter really? or is he just being fussy?

that is just a way for him to put out some crap. hey you can put it in a jar ,put a lid on it and shake it you get the same results as if you stired it both to the left or to the right. next time he comes out with that garbage tell him to stir his own damned tea

I drink mine out of a styrofoam cup, no sugar or milk, and I dunk the tea bag repeatedly until the tea is dark enough.

Have you fainted yet? LOL Yes, I am American. :D Growing up, we took our tea with milk and sugar and drank out of real tea cups (complete with saucers!)

To answer your question, I think he's just being fussy. As long as you don't clink and bang the spoon back and forth, and you stir it enough to dissolve all the sugar, he's just looking for a reason to complain.

no longer to completely circumvent the question or some thing yet i'd opt for to make yet another suggestion! Are you stirring the tea once the milk is in? cos it would have cooled down the tea enuf that the sugar isn't melting thoroughly. stir the tea any way you fancy yet stir earlier the milk and after! see if that permits ;)

i think he is very fussy, maybe you should do a little experiment next time and make two cuppas, then try stirring one clockwise and the other anti-clockwise. let me know if there is any difference.

Hrm, I've done lots of my own research as to the best brand of tea, best amount of milk, best time to put it in the tea, and best length of time to steep....

BUT I'VE NEVER HEARD OF BEST WAY TO STIR!!

I think he's being a nerd! IF you find out that it really does taste better one way or another (I might just have to experiment myself!) let us know!! =)

Men stir clockwise.

Cack-handed, Australians, girls and pansies/poofters I am so sure about about.
