Soak your head in apple cider vinegar.

Douse your head so it is good and wet with the vineagr and then put a shower cap on and let it sit for 1/2 to 1 hour than wash it out. Do that everyday until it goes away (about a week). When dandruff reaapears repeat. This is a very common home remedy and aside from the smell, it is extrememly effective.

I make handmade cosmetics for a living, so I might be able to help you.

Firstly, I agree with the poster above who recommended you see a doctor. No one can diagnose you with a condition or disease except a medical practioner.

That having been said, most commercial tea tree oil shampoos don't have nearly enough of the actual essential oil in their formula to help with dandruff or even plain old itchy scalp. You might want to go to your local heath food store and ask them what they would recommend for your problem.

Also, ask your hair stylist for help. Who knows your head better than the person who cuts your hair? He or she may have some good advice for you.

If that doesn't help, pick up a small bottle of tea tree essential oil from a pharmacy or other retailer (even Walmart has it in their pharmacy section) and add a little of it to your shampoo. (I'd say no more than 30 drops to a full bottle of shampoo.) In additon, make sure that you aren't taking too hot of a shower. Super-heated hot water can sap skin of its moisture, so watch the temperature when you lather up.

If all else fails, DEFINITELY see a dermatologist. There's no shame in it, and it might be the best thing you ever do for yourself.

Good luck!

I had dandruff for years. I read in Teen People to rub peppermint oil on your scalp after using a dandruff shampoo. Apply peppermint oil as often as needed. It worked! Even though it worked I still apply peppermint oil on my scalp every week. Once a month I wash and condition my hair with Head&Shoulders. This will definately make dandruff go away!!!!!

What is dandruff? It is flaking skin due to dryness!
Drink more water. Apply a skin moisturizer to your head for a few hours and then wash it off.
I love the V05 hot oil treatments.

What really works is a $2 cure...

Shampoo your hair normally. Rinse.
Pour baby oil on the scalp during the shower and leave it on for 5 minutes. Re-shampo lightly, but don't scrub your scalp. The oil will fix your scalp issues within days.

Tea tree oul should help, but perhaps you should mix it with 100% pure rosemary oil, and try to keep your head moisturized. There are many forms and different types of moisturizers available on the market. Dandruff is just dry scalp, so if you can use an oil-based (NOT WATER BASED) moisturizer on your scalp, this should clear it up for sure. Water-based moisturizers will only enhance the dryness after a few hours.

Good luck!

Well you might have a scalp condidtion that needs to be treated by a dermatologist...Try using T-Gel...EXACTLY like it says on the bottle...you have to be consistent if you rerally want to get rid of dandruff so that might mean washing your hair twice a week...also use a good conditioner...if you are caucasian try using Nexxus (pricey I know) or for something a little cheaper and good for all hair try this product by the Organic Root Stimulator people...I am attaching the link to this...Good luck with you hair..

Try Nizoral 3 times a week. I find that really takes care of my dandruff when it is really bad.

I usually use Head and Shoulders every other day. I was told using every day makes it less effective. I use my regular shampoo and conditioner on the other days.

You need to use cholesterol in your hair, It's thicker than any conditioner and it takes the dandruff out completely. Don't wash your hair so much after if you're white(no offense). Their hair dries after washing too much!
