The problem with rawhide is they can cause stomach blockage because they do not break down. So if your dog were to consume a larger piece you the the risk. My vet told the retriever sticks were safer then the knotted bones, and if I was going to choose rawhide the compressed rawhide was a lot better or at least the best of rawhide choices. I will only feed my dog the rawhide on occasion, the risks scared me too much. I switched to the tendons and the bull sticks. Red Barn also makes a whole bunch of all natural chews that are more digestible and healthier all the way around.

FYI yes, and no to your question. Go to www.companiondental.com they sell all natural dental treats for your dog including rawhides. But, you are supposed to watch your dog while he is chewing on the hide. They also sell a fibrous extruded product that can be digested. I have been using this on my dog for the past 10 months and you wouldn't believe how his breath and teeth look. Check it out!!!!!

I have heard it can go both ways. I personally don't feed my dog rawhide. I used too, but it was gummy and gross and really seemed to block up his digestive tract. Now we just give him Milk Bones, and to chew on I give him pig femurs or beef ribs.

Yes they are! I have 4 dogs and there are rawhides all over our living room! We buy them constantly and they chew them up. They love them!

No, not really. After chewing them they get all gummy and when swallowed can get caught/lodged in their digestive track. Causing death. The best type of bone is a soup bone. You can get them at the meat department, just ask the butcher, they usually have them in the back and will sell them cheap!

My dog used to vomit after eating on one. I ask the vet about it and he told me that they are not good for dogs to eat them. Chewing is something that naturally cleans the dogs teeth so they need to chew on something- If you are wanting that, then my vet suggested to get them a rope toy from the pet store.

My canines knows my sons call. I ask her to discover Oskar and she or he runs to him. that is in all probability because of the fact he's barely a baby and that i'm consistently saying his call, and have been at homestead lots of the day so she's listening to me call his call a lot :)

Yes, they are. With some dogs it's a good idea to take them away when they've just got small ends left.
