I mean if I have enough money to buy food and clothes, than can I really justify hunting for such reasons?

Gen 9:3 is the scripture I was basing this on.
I just think that the act of hunting might promote something bad in our hearts (possibly). i.e. my fridge is full and I still want to go out and hunt. Yes I know the stores get their food from killing animals, I am not a complete moron. I just want to know why it is would be ok for the average person who really doesn't need to hunt in order to survive? Does anyone understand what I am getting at?

If you do not need to hunt for food or clothes, why would you hunt? You can say what you will, but ultimately it is the motives in your heart that will convict you. If your motives a true, you are OK.

The Bible says a lot of things. I suggest you critically analyze everthing it says, and then make up your own mind. The "hunt for the hungry" supplies food to people other than the hunters - are they violating the biblical rules? If so, so what? People will get a little something to eat because of their generosity - should they not hunt because of some ancient writings that no longer make sense in a modern world? I say NO.

They are talking about the waste of a hunt. Today food is given to food banks or other charities and like someone else mentioned thinning the herds are important as well.

Hmmm I used to love hunting but wouldn't now cause I see many more animals in the woods without a gun and feel bad for the lil critters running out of room to live and people who think the are hunters taking advantage of their plight.

Where do you think the food you buy comes from? Someone kills the animal and you buy the butchered product. There is no difference if you go hunting yourself and have the animal butchered into meat products. As long as you eat what you kill then you are fine.

Since there are too many people on the earch and we are destroying animal habitat every second, should the animals be allowed to kill us?
Thats the same logic we use to hunt bears.

What's the difference between hunting for food or paying a supermarket to 'hunt' it for you?

No you don't need to be starving to hunt. The idea is that if you don't get what you're hunting, you might be starving later.

If you buy a leather jacket, where do you think it came from?
Hunting is NOT a sin.
Wasting the food is.
Peace!
