I think you mean "Ridge augmentation" and in this surgery we put bone graft on the residual ridge of edentulous arches in order to enhance the surface beneath dentures.

You have what are called Tori, some people have them some don't. Yes to have a denture seat properly, they should be removed, it will be a little uncomfortable after the procedure, but the mouth heals fast. If left unremoved you will not get a proper fit, the denture will rock, you want to form a suction as best as possible, with out the use of any adhesives. Good Luck! P.S. I don't know what you are asking but the procedure is tori removal. Tori are bone bumps that occur in the mouth usually in the roof of the mouth or on the inside of the lower jaw. Dentures tend to rub against these bumps causing sore spots. To avoid this most dentists reccomend removing these tori. The removal process varies. Some drill them off...the quicker but more rustic way is to use a mallet and chisel (we call them differently in dentistry but you guys get the point) and knock off the bone bumps. You are numb of course.
