that applies to men and women...when people have been emotionally hurt, they sometimes hold their feelings back for fear it will happen again...it can affect how they trust others, their ability to open up, to love others and allow themselves to be loved...
...it takes some patience to get involved with people like this...sometimes they end up running off potentially wonderful partners because the person gets tired of waiting for their partner to open up and be part of the relationship...

Are guys afraid of showing their true feelings? Not me.
Are they afraid to fall in love especially when they where cheated in their last relationship?
Had a "best" friend hook up with my ex. Got over and moved on.
Of course this was after much crying like a little girl with a skinned knee, and the loss of about 30 lbs.
But I did move on.

Not really
What men is afraid of, is "commitment" and showing true feelings is one of the imminent facts of getting into a commitment, what is really beneath is, that as time goes by, must of the guys are running out from a serious commitment with a girl.
I am married and have 2 extraordinary beautiful girls and I can confess that right before getting married, I was just like trying to run from what maybe is the best time in life....

I think it is crazy that you asked that at a time when I, a 34 year old father, am sitting here fighting emotions after watching the video of the school shooting in Pennsylvania. i am not affraid to show my true feelings. Never have been and never will be. I am one who really does not give a crap what others think of me if they see me laughing or crying. I think it makes a person more human to be able to express and share their feelings. I personally believe it is a weakness to hide your true feelings. Those men who believe they are being stoic or tough by not sharing their feelings are really only lying to themselves. They are trying to convince themselves that they are immune to emotions and the way those emotions make a person feel. They are also trying to be "strong" for their fellow man. I for one am an emotional person. I believe it has made me a stronger person to be able to share my emotions and feelings.
Society does put undo pressure on men to hide their feelings. Mostly because of all the reasons I already stated. It is considered un-manly to cry in public or to share feelings in public. It is supposed to be a private event. Of course, that is how it has been historically and there is still a lot of pressure to be that way. I do have to say that I do not believe I am alone in expressing my feelings and emotions openly. More men do so today than in most of previous history.

It got hurt really bad recently, I'm still getting over the pain. It's going to take some time for me to reveal the things that I gave to this girl. But no, some guys aren't afraid to show their feelings. That's when love becomes really good, when you can bare yourself for the other to see and not worry about being hurt.

I think girls have way more feelings than guys do. My guy seems to be really simple and to the point, and it took him a lot longer to fall in love with me than it did me with him. Aren't guys annoying like that?!? They have feelings in there, but the hairs in their ears and noses keep those feelings from seeping out. Friggen men. It'll never change, and whenever people actually DO see a man with feelings who isn't afraid to show them, people around him accuse him of being gay. God forbid a man has a soft side.

Yes guys can be hurt and afraid to put too much into a girl because the past. Just take your time and work with this guys and you'll be okay. Prove to him you're not like the other girl that broke his heart.

Dear, if we showed you our true feelings you would run screaming and never want to see us again. Trust me, you don't want to see a man expressing his true emotions - it's ugly.
You are judging men based upon your own criteria, which is from a feminine perspective. Women are ruled by their emotions - they are experts - skilled in emotional awareness and expression.
Men, on the other hand, should do their best to limit themselves to maybe one emotion a year - two if someone you love dies. Men don't understand emotion and don't know how to deal with it.
I think you women would be well served to not expect us to behave like you. If a man is in love it's like he's psychotic - unable to rationally think or function. It's like a mild form of insanity.
Thanks.

1. some are.
2. most are.
Nobody wants to be hurt. It's natural for someone who's been cheated on to be very cautious in subsequent relationships.

I think guys are more honest and trust worthy than girls. Most of the guys are very soft minded, but acting like hard and powerful. As per holly Bible Huwa is created by Adam’s back born. As per science back born is the most powerful part of a human being. That itself saying girls are hard minded than girls.
