I hope you are able to try and find relief from one of the OTC drugs that were suggested. PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! DO NOT take any Rx painkillers even if a Dr recommends it. Two members of my family had severe back pain and the Dr prescribed painkillers. The outcome was very tragic! Both became addicted to them. Because of this I have done alot of reading and info gathering and have found out that many people who never had a drug problem before, were prescribed painkillers for back problems and became addicted to them. When the Dr would no longer write a Rx for them many of the patients began buying the painkillers illegally. This problem is more common than most realize and it was only after this happened in my family that I began to find out how much of a serious problem it is. The sad part was one of my family members has a addicted personality and his Dr of over ten years was aware of it. I told the Dr that I did not feel comfortable with his decision and his reply was "well it will be only for a short time" which I knew was very unlikely! Over five years later, thousands and thousands of $$$ later for illegal drugs and finally detox and lengthy counseling time this nightmare I hope is just about over. Too many Dr readily prescribe painkillers instead of trying other ways to control pain. This may sound a bit unbelievable, and I may have had some difficulty when I was unaware of this problem. I try to make people aware of this after ALL the @#$%^& we have gone through. I wish you well and hope you find relief in OTC meds or other form of pain management.
