Maybe ask her how often she washes her hair. Then say very matter-of-factly, "Oh I see. You know, you really should wash it more often. I wash mine everyday otherwise it would be greasy and clump together. I hope I'm not hurting your feelings. I wouldn't tell you this if you weren't my friend. I really care a lot about you. And I just know your hair could look really nice."

If she says she washes it everyday, then ask her what kind of shampoo or conditioner she is using. Tell her that you shampoo, rinse, shampoo again, then apply the condition only to the ends and not to the scalp. She could just be conditioning too heavily.

Make sure it's just the two of you when you talk about it. If she really is your friend, she might feel embarrassed at first, but I think she'll really appreciate it. Then once she starts washing it more often, you can reinforce by saying, "Your hair really looks nice now."

You could try the other suggestions of buying her a new shampoo to try, but some people just won't get it. They'll try it once, and then go back to their habit of not washing for a week. It's best to be direct.

this is best for cleansing of such hair
it is best because its natural remedy
LEMON JUICE - is a wonderful natural cleanser. If you have dandruff, apply warm coconut oil on the scalp with cotton wool. Keep it on overnight. Next morning, apply the juice of a lemon on the scalp and after half an hour, wet your hair as usual. This treatment helps to get rid of flakes and cleanses the scalp. Hair also gets added body and bounce.

5. EGG - is one of the most versatile ingredients. It contains silicon, sulphur and fatty acids that help to nourish the hair. The white of an egg has a powerful cleansing action, especially for greasy hair. Egg applied on the scalp before shampooing helps to add thickness too. Beat the egg with a little milk, to form a thickish consistency and apply it on the scalp and hair. After half an hour, rinse hair well with water. This not only promotes the health of hair, but adds shine and thickness.

SALT - Mix salt with a little water to dampen it, and rub it into the scalp. Salt helps oily hair and also removes scales. The salt soaks up the excess oil and helps to dislodge the scales. Wash your hair with plenty of water.

Wash every day. No way around it. So, naturally, a gentle shampoo that won't beat up your hair on daily use is essential.

Give her a gift of a nice shampoo from a bath and body shop, if she likes fragrances and stuff. She might be enticed to shampoo more often.

Tell her you know someone that has greasy hair and they used this old time remedy... Rinse with vinegar then rinse again, remember to rinse with cool water again. No sense in smelling like a french fry.

buy a good shampoo for her, come over and say "you know (name), I think your hair would look really awesome with (shampoo brand) it will get it all soft and shiny like a model! It's pretty now, but for some reason I think your shampoo isn't working for you like this one could. I really hope you try it out because I know it will look fabulous!"

If she has really greasy hair, just let her be. Some people put grease in the hair for moisturizer. So i wouldn't say anything that would offend her. Just let it be. Just don't touch her hair if you don't like it.
