Christians say "they can't see the truth when it is right in front of them".

Atheists and other non-believers say "they can't see the truth when it is right in front of them"

So ironic to me. Are we all blind to anything other than what we think we know? Or is it that our truths are just that "OUR" truths and no one elses?

Btw - I'm an ex-born again atheist.

Maybe we should say "well in my opinion" or "I believe this". Instead of this "it's my way or you're an idiot" mentality. It may be true, but it is not helpful.

I'm not attempting to speak for anyone else, but I'm tired of the circular bashing. I have to wade through hundreds of questions that have no purpose other than to bash other's to get to something real.

Also, I used to a christian...now I'm an atheist...is that really so hard to understand?

Sad, but no one from either side wants to treat the other with the respect they want to be treated with.

It's interesting to me that you use our ability to see as your descriptive means of making your point. It's interesting because it speaks to our five senses. Our ability to perceive those things that are outside of ourselves.

No two people will ever "sense" something in exactly the same way just as no two people can have the same hallucination. Therefore the truth of one person's existence will be different from another's. Our only common ground is our basic humanity.

Perhaps part of our evolution as a species both physically and spiritually is to learn to accept each other's truth as real for the individual perceiving it. Then, maybe, we can stop killing each other over our personal beliefs and our religions.

The only truth we have is the Word of God. Many may say it is not true but it has stood true for generations. Psalms 12: 6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.Psalms 12: 7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. Our salvation is not based on our opinions but upon what the Lord Jesus Christ did for all that would believe. He died for our sins, He was buried and took our sins away and He rose again the third day for our justification. 1 Corinthians 15: 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 1 Corinthians 15: 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

You see only what you want to see. Hence the term blinded by faith. It doesn't matter what you believe in. If you're not willing to accept and acknowledge it, you won't see it.

It's why I don't like people who are very closeminded.

Religion (or lack thereof) is all opinion. It hasn't been proven yet, there's no actual way to prove either side completely, the whole basis of arguing about it is a moot point.

The only way to find out is to die (unless God decides to actually show himself and intervene in everyone's lives), so why argue about it while you live?

Every one sees the things through the religious or belief goggles. They see the things in the same color as that of the glasses of goggles. Therefore, every one describes the color they see correctly, though it is not the true color of things that they are seeing.

Calling people names don't help the situation nor the fact of having everyone that opposes ur beliefs have hateful agendas by being on this site.

I agree with proofs. To hell with Truths. Most of the truths I have been told have become nothing more than lies wrapped in prideful arrogance.

Truth is a subjective experience.

Nobody "Knows" the truth.

At best, each of us gets a small glimpse.

The only way to discover more is to be open to the views of others.

Anyone who tell you they "Know" the answer is either deceiving themselves, lying to you, or just plain nuts.

I'm an atheist and I've never said what you're stating.....what you're stating about atheists is a contradiction.

I can't speak for what Christians see & say.

Can't see what's right in front of you if it's completely invisible.
Don't blame yourself for not being able to see something that can't be seen.

I agree that most things should be approached with a "in my opinion" mindset. But with the existence of a supernatural being, i just get tired of it. They are wrong, there is no god.
