To have true harmony, there must be an entity that understands what perfect harmony looks like. As humans, we see our own perspective before we can understand anyone elses. It's just inexitable human nature. So to be of one mind, there has to be a perfect mind outside of the human condition to "tell" us what harmony and oneness is in a capacity we can understand at our current mental evolution. To me, that entity is God.

We have free will? Funny, our brains are finite lumps of chemicals and energy which operate under the laws of physics, and our minds are emergent behaviors of that lump, which means our mind is turing complete (from theory of computation). In short, free will is a myth because we cannot dissociate from the sum of our previous experiences or our current inputs (even if we close our eyes, for example, we have a current input of darkness).
We are purely computational. We make choices, but there's no free will to them.

easier said than done...with so many beliefs, ideas, religions..how can one harmonious society be formed...and anyway wouldn't that be too boring and monotonous.....everyone will act and think the same...different people and opinions keep life from becoming dull.
and in such a society wouldn't the need for 'assimilation of all nasty trolls' disappear....what would you do then?

This is precisely what separates Human beings from animals. There is no life and progress without conflicts, which have to resolved, to march ahead. Unifrmity will bring in discipline but kills creativity. Life without creativity is dead even before it is born!

Yeah, life would be so easy without free will. I would live for the day my family marries me off to a complete stranger who could be a deranged maniac and bear his children. Or maybe work in servitude until I'm either too sick or dead. Ooooh! Sign me up for that!

Because there is no progress without conflict. Even inside your own mid if you never weighed various possibilities you would never grow as a person.

I see little evidence that independence and free will are important to all humans.
