If you have the pass and it is unrestricted you can do whatever you want to do. However, I have never know a AIT student to be granted a pass. (save a federal holiday). Usually after AIT you are allowed a break, (but again there is a however), that usually is waived when there is a shortage of personnel and the services are engaged. For example several times there in the Viet Nam era, Panama, Yugoslavia and already during the Iraqi fracas. I hope the best for you and your loved one. God Bless You Both and the Southern People.

depends on what the base has for its milage restrictions. some are as close as 50 miles, others as far as 350 miles.

But don't forget that many times you will still have some sort of duty to stand on the weekends.

Usually you're not supposed to go outside a 50 mile radius. It could vary by post though, so this is a question you need to ask your drill sergeant.

it depends. up to a certain point, you can't leave post at all. after that, you can get a pass to leave. After than, you can come and go freely, but they'll put you on restriction as soon as they look at you.
