Actually, Childrens Services took 4 of her 8 kids for lettin the kids get ate up by roaches. I have been friends with her for 20+ years and her place has always been trifling, I have cleaned up her spot before, I try to teach her, cuz she was raised with anything she wanted and was never taught to clean. I have been there for her but she's not there for herself. She gets money and goes shopping and brags about what she has. I have always been a clean person and it annoys the hell out of me. The kids are scarred for life. She has a 15 month old who is riddled with marks and the 2 month old(gorgeous kids) who can't fend for nothing is just laid there to be a meal.

Would you want to live like that?I was raised in an alcoholic environment. I could go weeks without seeing my mother. My father was dead. I raised my brother since i was 10. I prayed that someone would intervene and get me out of that environment. You can be a child's hero.

Yes you should call social services, as this could be cause for neglect. Unfortunatly there is probably little they will do if this is the only thing that is wrong in the family home. At least you would have pinpointed them out to SS, so they will be able to investigate further. If you know which school the children attend, it would be worth speaking with them, as they will contact the school nurse. Which again can be taken further. Believe me, SS would never take kids away at a drop of a hat, I think there would be alot more to it than just a case of roaches, if that is not bad enough!

I think you know in your heart what is more important. The safety and health of those kids. If you can find a way to help without involving Children's services that might be a better choice. Check out the cost of exterminators in the area and give her all the quotes! If she can go shopping, she can spend a little money to get rid of these insects who are eating her poor kids alive!!! Ride this woman until she takes action!

I would tell her that if she don't get her act right that you will report her. Tell her to spend some of that shopping money and buy some nix for the house and those kids. And if she don't do anything call them and stop being friends with her because if she doesn't care about those kids enough to fix the problem then she probably don't care about you either.

Try calling the exterminator first, or maybe you could help her clean up at least the children's room. If you are not feeling that call Children's services, they may give her a warning and that may help her clean up her act. Children shouldn't be treated like this they don't ask to be born into this world. Do what you can to help the children, she will be fine.

If you really care about the kids you should. It can be anonymous call, and then no one would know it was you. They don't want to just take the kids away, they'll work with her as long as she's willing to get her to get her house up to par. If you want I'll make the call for you, then that way it wasn't you. But honestly, take care of the kids, they're just innocent victims and it's just not fair for them.

I would turn her in in a hearbeat. Friend or not. That is horrible to keep your children living in conditions that are not sutible...Its not like they can pick up and move out. Also, when friends want to hang out they will be embarassed to bring them over and all. I would not stand for it

Im sure you can get sick from bedbugs too if they are persistant over time. Do it for the kids and put your friendship aside!

Do research and find out what is needed to get rid of bed bugs then offer to help your friend. Maybe she just doesn't know what to do. If she refuses your help call the Health Department and Child Services

By all means call them. If the Mom is such a selfish moron then you need to be the one to help those kids out. So make the move!

YES !! Please call. you might be saving those kids. Think about the example she is setting, if nothing else. And I wonder about the other things that might be going on . Those kids , if they survive are going to think that it's just the way it is supposed to be. Apples don't fall far from trees.
