Have you ever rolled your tongue over your teeth after you have had a glass of Cola? It feels blunt and fuzzy doesn't it? What causes this and why?

Carbonated drinks are weak acid solutions. They react with the calcium in your teeth making the outer enamel soft and "fuzzy". This is usually temporary since your saliva deposits tiny amounts of calcium on your teeth, repairing the outer part or dentin to some degree. Bacteria may prevent this from happening so brush, floss and gargle to keep those pearly whites sparkling.

Stop drinking all cola it's so bad for your teeth it just eats away at the tooth enamel, get a copper coin and leave it in a glass of cola and see the effect.

Hi if this isnt sugar free coke then its the sugar on your teeth known as plaque this rots your teeth. You feel it during the day as you eat and drink but more so if you drink coke and eat sweets. If you go and brush your teeth the feeling will go as you have brushed the plaque off. If you leave this on your teeth it leads to bad teeth as it eats at the tooth enamel. So in future drink diet drinks then you wont get this feeling. I hate it as i know my teeth are being eaten by the rotten bugs. Go brush your teeth.

I think it maybe something to do with the sugar in the Cola hitting the acidity in your mouth and on your teeth and they kinda react.

It's eating the bacteria on your teeth. Teeth are fuzzy for only one reason, they are dirty and the food left on your teeth quickly turns to plaque. If your teeth were clean, the soda would leave your teeth slick.

its all the c**p in it sticks to your teeth and gives them a second coating they recomend leave for either 10 or 20 mins to allow the acid to settle and leave your tooth enamel alone then brush them and id suggest stick to the water

I know what you mean, I now drink Diet Coke because it is sugar free and the sugar is what makes your teeth feel like that.

A flat glass of coke is great for a bad stomach as it rots anything that gets its way. All fizzy drinks rot your teeth maybe this why you get this feeling. Can't say that ive done it myself. I still drink fizzy drinks though as you get sick of drinking usual boring drinks.
