I am a student, wife and mother. I have on a baggy tee shirt and some shorts. I am in my home finishing some homework and playing on the computer, how am I a whore?

No. I am not a Christian. I need to get off of here because you all are pissing me the hell off with these misconceptions, and then you are mad whenever someone has a misconception about your religion. Kiss a pig.

Sounds rather decent and normal to me. I have seen far worse and let's face it you are at home not out among others.

Dear jellybean,
Why are you worried about what a Muslim thinks of the way you are dressed? I don't know if you are a whore, but if you were how you are dressed wouldn't make much difference. And If Muslims believe that the way you dress makes you a whore, what do you care? The Amish probably think you are to but you aren't bashing them. Trouble with our country is people like you think that all the world must accept our ways and forget about theirs, why is that?

You're generalizing. Not all practicing Muslim women wear all those coverings sensationalized on the media.

And slutty dress is a matter of opinion. Even 100 years ago during the Victorian era in America (yes America) women showing their ankles was considered immoral and slutty. Today you would have girls wear halter tops and low riders and insist that they aren't dressing slutty.

I don't know about Muslims, but the Amish and the original Puritan founders of the North East would have called you a whore... ditto the Victorian English, Empire French, Tsarist Russians, and Ante-Bellum Southerners...

I think you are a bit confused. A woman is only required to wear the covering when she is outside the home (or if there are male non-family members around, I believe).

Uh name-calling is a sin in Islam and what you wear is really none of our business.

The laws of Islam only apply to us. How can they apply to you if you don't even have the same belief?
