and im 35 weeks preg, i told the doc about the severe pressure in my uterus, and he measured my belly and did a mini ultrasound and sais youre baby is big, it looks like he is 7 pounds, so he gave me a slip to get a ultrasound, somewhere else to see the real weight of baby, has anyone ever had a big baby, and if so do you have to give birth naturally, or have a c section? also my two year old only weighed 7 pounds 12 ounces, why is this one bigger?

My wife gave birth to a 8lb 6oz boy, 2 years later- a 9lb 2oz girl. When I was born I weighed 11lbs 14oz, delivered naturally. 5-7 pounds at birth is about average. They will only schedule a C-section if the baby is extremely large for your build, or there are other complications that could interfere. Second births go much faster than firsts, so just hang in there as they're also more painful- so says the expressions on my wife's face during contractions.

My first baby was 7.5 and height 22", my second 8lbs.5 and 21 inches, my third was 9.5 and measured 23", I had a section for my third but not because he was bigger, the baby was overdue by 2 weeks and I had night contractions that would wake me and go to 5 minutes apart and stop, but no work was being done, physically, meaning my cervix was not dialating accordingly..
This is probably why he was over 9 lbs at birth, because he was overdue.
Do you have twins in your or your husbands family history, you may be carrying twins which would explain the doctor's measures, but don't fret or cause yourself stress birthing is a natural process and should not cause you to stress over it. Just go have the ultrasound and this will answer most of your questions.
Good luck I'm sure you will have a beautiful baby.

I delivered an 9 lb 12 oz baby girl about 7 months ago. She came 2 wks late. I tried to have a natural birth the pain was too unbearable so I took the epidural. the worst part was the tear in my peirnium. I delivered so quickly that the doc didn't have a chance to do an episiotomy. it was hard to walk for like 2 weeks

I am small build and only weighed 64kgs (about 128lbs) at 36 weeks pregnant. My baby was a big healthy baby at 9 pound 4 ounces. I was abit concerned of course but I gave birth naturally! Make sure you trust your doctor and dont be scared to get a second opinion. Its better to be safe than sorry but I am proof that it can be done successfully! My first baby was 7 pounds 9 ounces and he was an easy birth compared to my second!

Doctors are wrong about the size all of the time. I was told my babies would be small(around 6 lbs) but they weren't they were both more than 8 lbs. Oh & your second is not necessarily bigger, mine was smaller, by 8 oz. I had a friend once whose doc insisted on inducing because he KNEW her baby was over 10 lbs but it turned out he was only 7 lbs & was very sick because he was born before he was ready.

It is not the Receptionist's job to make medical judgements - she is there to make appointments, etc. I guess you are in the UK from your avatar, if so, does your surgery have various levels of medical staff? Our Surgery employs various specialist nurses including a "Nurse Practitioner" She is qualified to make medical examinations and to write prescriptions to a certain level. For something which is possibly "trivial" I make an appointment with her. Should she see a patient whom she considers has a condition which merits seeing a doctor, she will call one into her room to see the patient between his/her next appointment. If you think that your pain is a repeat of a long-standing problem, maybe an appointment with the Practice Nurse or a Nurse Practitioner (if your surgery runs to that) would make you feel happier that you are not "time wasting" If you have really been sent away with the proverbial flea in the ear, then it would be appropriate to refer the incident to the Practice organiser remembering that you would not want other patients to be treated in that manner. Do not ignore any medical condition in the hope that it will go away or that you are time wasting. Remember Jade Goody who did just that!

my first pregnancy i was 100 when i got pregnat only 5 ft and my baby was always "big" for me i was induced at 38 weeks and he was 7 lbs 7 oz but i also stressed to my doc that i did not want a c-section i would just talk to your doctor i had a 4th degree tear from hole to hole, i know its nasty and it was painful but 5 more weeks and he could be 9 pounds they grow the last five weeks a lot just discuss your options and let him know how uncomfortable you are if baby is healthy they can induce

doctors are usually off a little on size... i wouldnt worry about it.. but some babies are just bigger than others.. my girls were both exactly 7-3 then my son was only 5 lbs... if he says 7 lbs now the baby is prolly actually 6-9 or so... dont worry.. the bigger the healthier...

my son was 9 pounds 4 oz when he was born. I did have a c section due to his large size. Is this baby a boy or a girl? Remember every pregnancy is different. Good luck!
