I think the Electric Chair would hurt worse...Although, there was a study done to see if a person is still conscious after going through the guillotine. A scientist (I don't remember his name, but it was for a report I did in high school) offered to have his head chopped off and blink as long as he could after. His assistant counted how many times he blinked. He blinked 14 times!

I am not sure about the guillotine as there has been some debate about there being feeling for a while after decapitation. I am sure that the electric chair must hurt though for obvious reasons, especially when the victim has to fry for a long time before dying.

guillotine is quick, it might hurt but since you are severed from your body the only pain you might feel would be in your neck but only for a short time maybe a few seconds.

electric chair, yes you do feel pain

the guillotine hurts much more ..and it`s not quicker...because you don`t die immediatley...it takes a bit until your brain "goes to sleep" ...i don`t know where i read that two prisoners who were sentinced to death by guillotine...agreed that the first one to go ...would blink with the left eye if it hurt...or wouldn`t blink at all if it didn`t hurt (or something like that i forgot) ...and the one that had his head chopped of first...started to blink his eye like hell...but i guess the electric chair...couldn`t be any better...

I think once they get going the actual killing does not hurt.

That is based on the fact that none of those who were killed like that came back and complained about how bad that part of it was. I would imagine that all of the ceremony leading up to it was the real worrisome part.

Not sure, but I am in no rush to find out. It probablly doesn't hurt, since there have been very few complaints about either of these methods throughout history.

I have heard that you pass out before the moment of collision in a fatal car maybe the same happens before such a death as you describe then you wouldn't feel anything.
