We are looking for a new vehicle for a family of 4. We travel by vehicle a lot so we need room for us and luggage and baby necessities (stroller, swing, etc,). My husband is leaning towards a Durango, but I have heard they are terrible gas hogs. We travel 1400 miles one way 4 to 5 times a year to go visit family. Any suggestions?

I would highly suggest the Dodge Caravan with stow-and-go. We have the Chrysler Voyager which is pretty much the same and we love it. But we don't have the stow-and-go and I wish we did. We usually just take the extra seat out and use the 3 seater in the middle (we have 3 kids) when we need the extra storage. But with stow-and-go you just fold the seats down into the floor and they are out of the way and you have all that room in the back for you luggage and things. Then if you need more seating you can pop them back up!

Durangos are terrible gas hogs. I like the Jeep Liberty or a Ford Escape. Those would be my first choices but you can always go with a nice caravan. Most caravans have seats that fold into the floor so there would be plenty of room for luggage, stroller, swing, ect. Most also have tvs so that would be great for the kids on long trips.

For cars, I would suggest a Camry or a Honda Accord. Based on the quality they put out year after year.

If your looking for a SUV or MiniVan, make sure to look at the warranty, especially if you drive so many miles in a year. For instance Kia makes a nice minivan and the Sorento, which is a very nice SUV for the money. It also has a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty. This will be critical for someone who drives as much as you. Standard warranties are usually 3 year 36,000 mile. You could be past that in your second year. There are other companies that have good warranties too, be sure to compare warranties not just vehicles.

We have a Ford Escape (it's the smaller of the SUVs). We love it. It's easy to maneuver and you can even park in compact spaces. There is tons of room for all the baby stuff and you get great mileage on gas. They even have a hybrid now which they didn't have when we bought. If we could afford it, we would get the hybrid now. We have had our car 4 years without any problems (mechanical or otherwise) whatsoever. Happy car shopping!

Sorry, yet i could could trust your loved ones in this one. that's what the holiday journeys are approximately, for better or worse. the holiday journeys are approximately getting family individuals mutually and spending high quality time with eachother. that contains the cooking, giggling, making a large number, and cleansing it up. it form of feels so impersonal to flow to three lodge buffet. there is not any longer something incorrect with custom. you're able to be grateful to have a brilliant family individuals to get including in the process the holiday journeys, as many lack that convenience. it may be one ingredient to declare, "you comprehend what adult males? This year i flow to handle the full family individuals to a Christmas lunch!", yet except you have have been given the money for that form of ingredient, it is probably no longer an option. If the subject is which you're spending too plenty on holiday nutrients, have a communication on your loved ones approximately all of us pitching in the two. If the subject is basically too numerous the homestead paintings and/or cooking is being placed on one man or woman, back, have a communication with your loved ones approximately dividing those initiatives up better. in the experience that your loved ones have been all pleased with changing it up and going nontraditional, i could say choose for it and have exciting. it is basically no longer the case nonetheless. in view that your loved ones isn't all pleased with it, you mustn't attempt to stress issues to flow your way besides. you're able to the two stick to the classic family individuals social gathering, or flow off on your man or woman and do your man or woman ingredient.
