This isn't such an easy question. Christians believe that only by being baptized and accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior may you be saved, justified before God. So by strict Christian interpretation, the Dalai Lama is going to burn in hell forever, along with Ghandi.
Islam doesn't see it like that. First, the "people of the book" include Jews and Christians, and people of the book are not to be considered kaffir. Anybody who is not Jewish, Christian or Muslim falls into the category of kaffir. Second, being muslim is not an automatic pass to heaven. Third, everybody is going to have to stand in judgement, without exception, and those who have done mischief on earth are going to be the losers (many professed muslims are going to fall into that category). Fourth, God will place generation after generation on the earth, and for those who ask "why do you place among the generations those who make mischief and shed blood?" God's response is "I know things you do not know."
The same way you can ask a thousand Christians and get a thousand answers, you can ask a thousand Muslims and get a thousand answers.
Just so you know, this is my opinion, that when God responds "I know things you do not know," that to me turns it into a matter of personal responsibility. Your own personal responsibility is to pray to God, praising God and asking God for forgiveness, knowing that God has compassion and is merciful. One final thing - in the Torah, in the Prophets, in the New Testament, and in the Qur'an, there are thousands of verses directing us to take care of the poor, the unfed, the unclothed, the beggars, the orphans, the widows, those in prison, and anybody in need. So I am betting God is less concerned about what label I have than what I do. Will Dr. King go to hell? That's inconceivable to me, but this isn't about what label is better, or what label is a free pass to heaven.
What you may hear from other Muslims, or what you may hear or read from people trying to prejudice you against Muslims, all of that may be a diversion, to help you build your own fear and prejudice, waste your time, and make you not take positive action for "the least among these." In fact, you may go off on a witch hunt, if you aren't already on one.

Every religion in the world today states that if you do not believe in that religions specific God then you will spend eternity in Hell, or some form thereof. So, if Muslims don't believe in the Christian God then all Muslims go to Hell. If Christians don't believe in the Muslim God then all Christians are doomed to hell. Well if this is the case, isn't everyone that belongs to any religion going to go to Hell? They sure don't believe in the other religions God. They only people that don't seem to be damned for eternity are atheists.

Of course they will be evaluated according to what they beleived and did in this world as everbody else, the point is they will be evaluated whether Islam had reached them in their life in correct way (correct information not the knowledge heard from one person or the media ) and ıf Islam has reached them and they denied to believe this will unfortunately send them to hell and despite of their intentional denial what they made good in this world they will result in less punishment in hell God is the most dedicated about justice and 100 % SURELY NOBODY WILL FACE TO UNJUSTICE All the best : )

Dont be silly Of course paradise is for whosoever God wants to be there. However whosoever is convicted of the crime of disbelief WILL go where Allah has said they will go. But That decision is God's alone. God will say who was a true believer and who was not. But it WILL be in accordance with Gods word The holy Qur'an

well..............no, they wud not be going to heaven for sure, coz they however refused to accept Allah as the almightty God and Muhammad SAW(PBUH) as his Rasool.
so that's the main thing a muslim has to do, isnt it?
they wont be rewarded up there but yes they were rewarded already.
guess how??
they were famous, loved and still loved and ressptected were'nt they?
so this is how Allah does justice to everyone, the respect and love they got is worth considering !
i hope u got me!
this is only my perception, but above all i leave it to Allah coz it's His and only His job to put people where he wants....alone has got the right to judge his creation.

Islam is the only major religion that allows non-believers into heaven if they follow their religion correctly.
A big problem with our Muslim community (myself included) is judging other people. We have no right to judge anyone whether they be Muslim or not. That is Allah's job alone.
Those people you listed are good people and their good deeds will be weighed just like ours will.

As a Muslim you have no right to say who will go where when they die. Thus, we can't answer your question, only Allah can.
Just remember, those who served to make a name for themselves or for a worldly reward, they will have gotten that. Those who served for God, they will get their reward with him. That having been said, we can't know the person's true intentions. THAT IS FOR GOD TO KNOW.
BASICALLY, IT IS A MATTER FOR ALLAH TO BE CONCERNED WITH... not us.

Allah is a figment of some very fertile imaginations. The people whose names you listed were peace-lovers and must surely be in heaven, whereas followers of allah love violence and are therefore more likely to go to hell than those whom you mentioned.

this is what we never will find out till the day of judgement, Allah will certainly consider good deeds even if people were not Muslims, but the decision is based on the weight of good versus bad deeds, peace
