The migraine itself can't cause death, but the big question is what is causing the migraine? There are a number of illnesses that can cause migraines and some of these untreated may cause death in the long term.

You don't die from migraines. It seems to run in my family. though fortunately I don't get them. Mom, sis, and daughter does. Hormones ebb and flo during periods. Sometimes taking a magnesium tablet works. My mom gets the shot, my daughter has meds, my sister has another beer..ha. I know it's hard seeing someone suffer with a debilitating migraine. They can't concentrate or tolerate noise or light. . Talk to mom about seeing a doc. There's something out there for her so she doesn't have to suffer so

I personally know that a severe migraine headache could cause death.
