I have read if your symptoms are above the neck (runny nose, mild cough, etc.), it's okay to exercise as long as you feel up to it and you don't have a high fever. It may even help you kick the cold sooner. However, if the symptoms are also below the neck (chest cough, muscle aches, etc.) you should probably save your energy. You don't want to set yourself back by making yourself even sicker!
If you exercise at the gym be sure to consider others. Nobody wants to work out next to someone coughing and wiping their runny nose constantly. Even if you just have a cold (as it is a viral infection and it is contagious), be sure to distance yourself from others and be sure to wipe down the equipment with sanitizer. Feel better soon!

Common cold is a result of alergy. There is no problem in doing exercise when you are having common cold ( allergic rhinitis ).
However, when you have flu or fever, you must NOT exercise as body temperature is already high in the state of fever. Exercise will further increase body temperature and that will aggravate fever condition. Moreover, in fever, the food intake ( calorie intake ) is lower as compared to healthy state. Exercise will consume more energy and this can cause Hypoglycaemia ( low blood sugar ) and may result into further complications.

No, your body needs to use all the energy possible to fight the cold or flu. If you continue you will most likely be sick longer than you would if you took time off.

I would say no. Depending on your level of sickness, your body's doing some internal exercises of it's own.
