North Korea is a communist nation, run by a dictator who maintains the DPRK as a closed state. They are STILL in a state-of-war with South Korea and the United States.
Kim Il-Jong needs to "hate" America because he needs a point to focus the North Korean peoples anger and fear... Away from the fact that the North Korean government can't feed it's people or house them safely. Also it raises his self-image... and makes his little friends in Cuba, Venezuela, and a few tiny countries feel that World Communism still has a chance. They hold the 5th largest military in the world... while their own citizens starve.
In the schools, North Korean children are taught, again and again that Americans are the devil. Elementary age children are actually taught to bayonet posters of American soldiers.
In North Korea, there is no satellite television or international radio... to listen is a criminal act. There is no free press either. If caught with a "western" newspaper, you will be sent to a prison-labor camp, beaten and worked until you starve to death. These detention camps hold about 200,000 North Koreans.
An interesting thing to view is CNN's special on North Korea... also The History Channel's programming.

Relations between the US and North Korea have deteriorated since President George W Bush labelled North Korea part of an "axis of evil" in January 2002.
Tensions really started escalating the following October, when the US accused North Korea of developing a secret, uranium-based nuclear weapons programme.
Washington is not only concerned about the development of such weapons in North Korea, but also wants to curb Pyongyang's capacity to export missile and nuclear technology to other states or organisations.
Since the October 2002 confrontation, North Korea has restarted a mothballed nuclear power station, thrown out inspectors from the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency and pulled out of the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty.
It has also upped its frequently doom-laden rhetoric, warning of the risk of nuclear war.
It is often very difficult to tell what lies behind North Korea's moves. Pyongyang and its mercurial leader Kim Jong-il act in erratic and contradictory ways.
But it seems possible that North Korea has been trying to use the nuclear issue as a hard-line ploy to negotiate a non-aggression pact and improved economic aid from the US.

2 causes they have not used nuclear guns: in elementary words some international locations can installation a nuclear weapon antagonistic to u.s.: Russia, China, uk, France, and Israel. North Korea might want to have a bomb, yet they do no longer have a fashion of delivering it to the united states or everywhere else for that count number. previous the logistics of the count number, does all and sundry truly favor their united states and themselves to be almost immediately annihilated through large nuclear retaliation. they could kill some human beings, yet they're going to be fortunate in the journey that they get to work out the television photos of their act earlier the U. S. responds in type and then some.

They don't want to bomb us what they want is to deal with us and anybody else on a level playing field and nukes give you that instant and real respect. That is why countries like Iran and North Korea want nukes the respect that having a nuclear arsenal brings to any dealing with a foreign country is priceless in the cut throat world of diplomacy.

They hate American's like many other nations do because Americans think they are God's chosen people and their way of life is better than everyone else's. America has dug their own grave by trying to impose their beliefs on the rest of the world.

part of it is because of the Korean "War". part of it is because their fearless leader is a horror movie fanatic. for years now he has been telling the military and the general populace that American soldiers, if given the opportunity, would bite any N. Korean in the throat and drink their blood. whether he believes this to be true, or not, only he knows

Mostly because the country has been run by certifiably insane leaders steeped in old style communist doctrine. Thus, they perceive the US as a threat and in their paranoia believe that the US is planning their imminent demise.

Don't believe everything you hear on the news. It's probably the propaganda press grinding out reasons why the US should invade North Korea next. Everyone hates the US, with good reason. Dont lose any sleep over it.
