papers, artificial houses, cars...etc intending their late relatives to get...? Any logic reason?

As I understand (one of my friend is buddhist) when they burn the things, they believe that the things are transferred to the other life to their relatives. Some even burn fake computers, but most famous one is so called "hell money" - it's a fake money that is also burnt, they believe their relatives can buy things in the other world.

because the smoke will get up there, and it conveys your message to them. this idea is shared by most asian religions and cultures. american indians have the similar custom. logically, smoke is the purified elements of everything on earth.
