This is the main problem with athiests or people that just desire to cause strife. You take a singular scripture and most of the time don't truly understand the meaning. In this passage life is referred to as your collective life here on Earth-material possession, family, achievements et cetera. In other words you must be willing to lose this "life" in order to gain the eternal life Jesus was speaking of. I myself would say I still have a ways to go towards reaching that goal, but if one can't even admit that they are missing the whole point of humility.

It doesn't matter what goes into your spirit if you know how to block, its what comes out of you ,the words spoken and the emotions coming out your of soul is the sum of the worth of what you are really worth. If your spirit is carrying hate inside of you, your nothing, worth nothing, become nothing, but unclean spirit stuck on a wall, just another brick in the wall.Left behind and become purified ,when the days ,the last days of no rain pass at the time times and a half time, 2013 I gave you the bright morning star, earth changes into a star when the season ends

what it is saying is if u love the way of the world then u shall die but if hate the way of the world and love god and love each other than u shall live 4 eternity. what he means is if u put money and fame, pride , lust and sin before him u are on the road to death. but if u love and worship and prasie him, help others , be kind and do good things then u are on the right road to heaven

I think you just may be taking this verse out of context. Jesus was saying if you are living only for you and to try to have as much fun as you can, you will lose your life, but if you spend your life on things that will outlast you and live your life for Jesus, you will have eternal life.
But somehow I think you knew you were taking it out of context from the start...

I feel that scripture is referring to living of the world. There's a saying I like called "in it not of it" Kind of a neat way to put it, I don't love my life I love the life I am living for Christ, its about surrending if you can't surrender to him and let him have control then you love the worldy things to much, if you can surrender your life to him you can live eternally in heaven, I hope this helps!

What are you trying to say? Do you understand that scripture or are you just trying to get a rise out of someone? How petty to assume that you think that you can slap the Christians around with your superior attitude.
Pull the log out of your own eye before you concern yourself with the spec in the Christians eye.

Maybe you didn't understand the scripture surrounding this line. He is saying that if you love your life, you will be able to follow Jesus into Heaven.

I neither hate nor love my life. I find it to hard to loose something I love, and too depressing to hate something!
