I have a little boy in Headstart, they usually have a Christmas party for the kids sponsered by a few local companies, this year we have to do an outside christmas party, because we are no longer allowed to have anything to do with Christmas on company time. My question is....do you have any ideas on how I can raise money to buy gifts and food/supplies for the party..If we take any donations made to Headstart we have to use them for school supplies..so I need cash or actual gifts bought for the kids...By the way, there are a few kids in the class that will have nothing for Christmas so I'm realllly trying to help them have a memorable holiday..just cant afford to do it all by myself. (there are 22 kids in the class) Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Try your church or job to see if someone would "adopt" a child. Dollar Tree has nice gifts. Someone may be able to adopt more than one.

God will bless the will over the deed, keep your chin up. The kids will have a great Christmas!

For our preschool one christmas we got parents and children to fill empty jam jars with little treats. For example a jar could contain a pair of childrens socks and some hairbands or chocolates , crayons etc. Then the children decorated the lids with tinsel etc. You could either give the jars as presents or sell them to raise the funds. As for food supplies - have you tryed asking your local supermarkets for contributions. Our local tescos gave us some Vouchers one year to buy food with. Local businesses are usually happy to help out with either money or products that you could use as raffle prizes etc. You could also try selling homemade cookies etc made with a Christmas theme! Another way to provide presents for the children is to ask able parents to buy an extra gift and donate it (giving them an idea of how much to spend) shops like Boots have the 3 for 2 gift offer on so the free item could be donated to your cause. Hope these ideas help!

Have a Headstart garage sale. Have all the parents gather a few things and have a huge garage sale. Use the proceeds to spend on the party. Have it at a local church/event room and set up tables. Have the parents sell the items and have the kids there too selling cookies and lemonade.
