Chernobyl, Ukraine. The radioactive fallout of 1986 has rendered everything within a 15 mile radius lethally radiactive including tennis rackets. However, tennis rackets in the area would not kill insects of the Periplaneta americana (the common american cockroach) for two reasons. Reason #1 is that they are naturally resilient to extremely high levels of radiation, and #2 they are not native to Chernobyl. Butterflies, ants, and silverfish however would likely die.
