to strive - to push yourself to achieve, to seek - to find, look for to find self explanatory and not to yield - yield means to give way allow another to achieve at your demise

so bascially - push yourself to achieve, and look for and find success but without letting anyone else make you give in - being determined

hope this helps

You need to break down the sentence for each verb; think of what each word means then come up with your conclusion.

strive (1) seek (2) find (3) = not to yield (4)

1+2+3=4

Strive = work hard, struggle for
Seek = look for
Find = locate
Not to yield = Don't give up

Therefore, work hard, keep your eyes open, realise what you're looking for (usually happiness) and don't give up.

In other words, be sheer bloodyminded!!

(note; its usually easier to quote the section of the poem, in case the preceding or following lines are related)

I read this twice. The way you layer longer story-related prose is admirable, and something I have much trouble with. You make it seem effortless, natural, but all of us who write know the opposite is true. I often measure the effectiveness of a piece by the number of TD's........Jealousy rears it's green head. Kudos to you, Mr Carney.

To keep going, despite setbacks; to keep looking towards one's goal; to be successful in attaining it; not to give in, but to hang on to what one has obtained.
