This is a dodgy quiz question. The "normal" answer is POLO.

However, I always argue that GOLF is a much bigger "pitch".

golf - fine its a playing surface.

largest pitch - elephant polo (and yes it's a real sport, apparently the Scots have one of the best national teams!)

When Native Americans played lacrosse, they played on fields that spanned 2 or 3 miles. These days, I'd say golf though.
