polo,
The outdoor polo field is 300 yards long and 160 yards wide, the largest field in organized sport.
The average 18-hole golf facility takes up 150-200 acres, teeing areas using 2%, putting greens 2%, fairways 23%, rough/woods/water 70%, buildings and grounds 3%.
An acre is equal to 43,560 square feet and a polo field is 432,000 square feet, making the average golf course larger.

Largest pitch is probably cricket.
Some know it all will probably come out with golf, but its not a pitch.

This is a dodgy quiz question. The "normal" answer is POLO.
However, I always argue that GOLF is a much bigger "pitch".
And then; if Round the World yachting is a sport .......

When Native Americans played lacrosse, they played on fields that spanned 2 or 3 miles. These days, I'd say golf though.
