Thinking Vancouver but I can be swayed...I'm an artist somewhere with a decent artscene would be nice.

Definitely Vancouver!
It is beautiful here, great art scene, anything and everything you could want or hope for.
Vancouver is a great place to live, esp. for an artist.

Welcome to CANADA!!!!

I would have to say the best spot to base yourself is in Winnipeg, MB. We are in the middle of Canada and you can travel ether direction and see all of Canada. Most of the Provence's and Territories have Travel web sits. Here are a couple that I could find. If you call them or e-mail them you can get a travel package with maps, attractions, accommodations, and different festivals that are taking place.

I hope you have an aw-some trip here in Canada. There is so many different things to see. Every Provence has a different landscaped.

I live in Victoria BC. I think it's beautiful here, and there is a fairly large art scene. And Vancouver is only a ferry ride away.
