If you've got an extra $5 to spend on this meal, go get an onion, a bell pepper, and an 8-ounce pack of pre-sliced mushrooms

1) Boil the water for the noodles. While you're waiting...

2) Chop up the onion and bell pepper. Heat up some oil or butter in a nice big skillet and saute those and the mushrooms until the onion starts to turn clear. Dump the veggies onto a dinner plate and put the skillet back on the stove.

3) The water should be boiling by now, right? Throw in the noodles.

4) Add some water (or broth or wine if you can spare it) and the chicken breasts. Cover the skillet and let the chicken poach for 10-12 minutes (until it's not pink in the middle). Then carefully pour off the liquid, throw the chicken breasts into the skillet lid, and put the skillet back on the stove one more time.

4a) About 7 or 8 minutes into that poaching time, the noodles will be ready. Drain them, and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process.

5) Pour the spaghetti sauce into the pan and add the vegetables. Stir it all up and let it heat through. Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and stir that in too.

6) Assemble as follows: Noodles --> chicken sauce --> cheese. Or make your family/guests assemble their own plates. That's what my house does. ;)

Take a baking dish and spray some non stick spray in it. Then put a little bit of the spaghetti sauce on the bottom. Next you take the chicken breasts and place in the baking dish and cover with remaining spaghetti sauce. Bake covered at 350% for about an hour or until the chicken is cooked through. Remove cover and place the provolone cheese on top of the chicken and put back in the oven until melted. Serve over the cooked noodles.

Cut chicken put cheese inside the chicken season with salt pepper or whatever season you have and bake until chicken is cooked completely, about 30 minutes at 375. (put a little water and butter in the bottom of the pan to make chicken moist and tender)
Boil noodles, and heat up sauce.
To serve place noodles and a bit of sauce on the place and put the chicken on top with a little sauce and a little more cheese.
Almost an olive garden platter.

The best suggestion I can think of, is make Chicken Catchatori, fry the chicken breasts then put the spaghetti sauce over it, you can even put the sliced provolone on top, then make the spaghetti noodles with the rest of the sauce.

Fry the sliced or cubed chicken breasts in olive oil in a large cast iron pot, add a diced onion, brown, throw three chopped garlic and some herbs like oregano and basil, put the uncooked spaghetti noodles in with the sauce and equal amount water to the sauce. bring it to a boil and simmer 20 minutes. add a few dashes of nutmeg (makes the dish taste just like the expensive Italian restaurant versions). If the noodles are still hard add 1/4 cup more water, stir and simmer another 5-7 mins. stir in part of your cheese at the end and serve with some more shredded cheese on top.

So simple!

What is it about the sauce he doesn't like??? I hate chunks in mine so if there is pieces of tomatoes or peppers in it I don't eat it. I also like mine more on the sweet side and I detest it if it is more like a marinara sauce. So figure out what it is about it he doesn't like and go with that. Of course, if he simply doesn't like it, so be it. Make the sauce you like but don't mix it with the noodles (which you never should anyway) that way maybe he can try a different sauce such as a cheese sauce or Al Fredo sauce and you can both be happy. I make a homemade sauce which everyone seems to love and compliments on however my 19 year old has never liked it. He love pasta but prefers eating it with just some garlic salt on it. No big whoop to me.

If you have breadcrumbs, you can make chicken cultet parmagiana. Dip the chicken in a beaten egg, cover chicken in breadcrumbs, put chicken in baking dish, cover all chicken breast with sauce, put cheese on top of sauce and baked for about 45 minutes, 350 degrees. Cook pasta separately. Bon Appetite.
