hey
smokes salmon or lox.
it comes thinly sliced ( or i believe in deli dept they could do that for u).
i like it with cream cheese on anything, small crackers. i also like it with crapes and some cream cheese or sour cream.
as another way of appetizer, i take a thin slice and make a roll with it. here is how: whipped cream cheese mixed with little tobiko( red small caviar like, what they use in Japanese restaurants) and a little sour cream mixed and than put it inside the slice of loxand roll and i top it with red caviar, or u could use something instead, like a piece or dill or piece of chopped yolk.
i hope any of it made sense.

Usually it comes as a fillet sliced up very thinly in a vacuum packed package. Often found near your supermarkets fish counter, maybe near the prepackaged imitation crab.
I like in on little toast rounds with cream cheese and capers. You can make your own philly rolls with dried seeweed sheets, sushi rice, cream cheese, smoked salmon, roasted sesame seeds and a wasabi soy sauce dipping sauce. Or as a dip:
12 ounces smoked salmon
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
3 tablespoons lemon juice
3 tablespoons milk
1 1/2 teaspoons dill weed
1/4 cup green onions
Beat cream cheese, lemon juice, milk and dill weed til well combined. Crumble or shred salmon and add to cheese mix.
Mix until blended and desired consistency. More mixing breaks up salmon more- less keeps it chunkier. Chop green onions and garnish the top of spread with them or mix inches. Serve well chilled with crackers, toast points or sliced/cubed bread.
Or as a cream cheese roll:
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon lemons, zest of
1 clove garlic, smashed
1 tablespoon onions, finely chopped
1/4 teaspoon spanish paprika, dried
1/4 teaspoon lemongrass and chili spice mix (Hot, more if you wish)
1 tablespoon parsley, finely chopped
8-10 ounces thinly sliced smoked salmon fillets
In a food processor or blender, (or use an electric beater), combine cheese, lemon juice, lemon zest, garlic, onion, paprika, parsley and Lemongrass/chilli (or fav hot spices). Process until combined and smooth. Spoon onto a piece of plastic wrap and shape into a 6 inch roll. Wrap salmon slices around cheese roll to cover, except ends. Roll to press salmon to cheese.
Wrap tightly in new piece of plastic wrap and chill for at least 2 hours. Cut roll into 1/4 inch slices, serve on crackers or pieces of bagel.

It comes in flat strips which you can put on brown bread with a bit of black pepper, then cut them into small squares/triangles. Or in small sandwiches with philadelphia. Yum!
