it depends on where you choose to put your attention. if you give all of your attention to your misery you will continue to feel miserable and you can spend your whole life in a state of sadness. if you choose to think thoughts that inspire positive feelings, if you put the balance of your focus on feeling happy, you will experience life as being mainly happy. it is your choice....

There is no set answer for this question. The main two factors are; 1) the severity of the emotion. 2) the type of person you are. Severe negative trauma can stay with us for a life time and really mess up our lives. Likewise, times of happiness are with us forever. I think however that all happiness tends to stay with us where only more severe sadness tends to. Also whether a person is optimistic or pessimistic plays a big part in whether we dwell on the positive or the negative. Some people just aren't happy unless they're having a good pity party.

Happy ones. It only seems as if sad ones last longer because they occur less and therefore is why the memory of them sticks out.
Try not to dwell on them, and/or overanalyze. Accept them for they are part of our human nature then...Move on.
Good Luck and God Bless

I think it's easier to burst someone's bubble than it is to cheer somebody up, so I'm going to go with sad feelings lasting longer in general.

I think you should choose to be happy...when you can do that you are incontrol of your emotions and your life.
It feels great to be positive everyday.....
