Since love is just a chemical reaction inside your brain, do you look for a partner that you desire because of ‘love’ or one that you desire because of ‘lust’?

Why?

I am just looking for your opinion; I’m not trying to change your beliefs, since my beliefs are condemned by most ordinary people anyways. (And no-one really changes their beliefs because of a site like this…)

I'm not sure I understand the question here, but it sounds like you have a good attitude. As for the love/lust question, well, I think it's a little of both. I think the chemical componant is important because it brings us together. However that is temporary so there has to be something backing it up. So I think lust helps us along a little, but any relationship that is going to last any serious amount of time will be because that high that comes from lust was converted into the stronger bonds that we call love. (And since the lines tend to blur pretty nicely we just lump the whole thing under love because it sounds better.)

Are you not ordinary then? My response is simple compared to the majority. Though now I have to add to my comments that you seem to place yourself above us mere mortals where most think of lust first and where love grows from that lust.

Lust is a necessity whilst love is a spiritual bond between two souls.

Love is not a chemical reaction of the brain, but an understanding from the soul of man.

What does love have to do with religion? But anyway, love and lust are distinctly different things. Much like you LOVE you're mom, but it would be unfortunate to have LUSTful thoughts about her. Both are the result of a chemical reaction in the brain (what isn't), but LOVE is timeless... whereas LUST can fade with time. It just makes logical sense to search for a mate based on a long lasting, solid emotion rather than a fiery impulse.

Greetings!

There in an animalistic instinct by which males seek out females and vice versa. Like all of nature the purpose being to propagate the species.
If indeed you think it to be a chemical reaction, fine. The end result is what it is.
Thus because in humans there is a vast supply of willing females, you may develop an attachment to one in particular for which you can simply develop over time an air of comfort ability with that person.
Do you finally develop love? Call it what you will. Establishing rules is like hitting a home run in an empty stadium.

Good Luck
PS Sites like this? Don't flatter yourself, your not that bright.

I disagree with your initial premise. There is a chemical reaction, but true love is much more than that. The chemical reaction cannot explain many aspects of love, apart from the physical one. The fact that many people see "love" as nothing more than sating a lust explains why divorce is so rampant in our society.

This is one area where religion plays a clearly beneficial role in society. The strength of the family unit is strongly correlated to teh strength of a society IMO.

Everything is a chemical reaction to something. We are titillated by all the chemical reactions we experience during our waking (and sometimes sleeping) hours.
I look for the right vibration. When the vibes are there - lust and love merge.

I think people look for partners for all kinds of reasons. The most common is lust I think , then theres lonliness and you just settle. I think lust is the chemical reaction in your brain , Love is for real if you're lucky enough to find it. If you have kids , thats love , love your dog, your family , and respect the one you're with.

Lust comes first. After that you must use the brain. And combine lust with common sense. You wouldn't want to marry a woman that is knocked out gorgeous, but, sleeps with any and everybody.

i'm between the unique goofy yet often times effective shoppers of this internet website at the same time as it began in 2005, and what I easily have discovered is this: a million. not in any respect thumbs down or record. only block them and ignore them. 2. do not fall in love. it really is not any longer authentic. 3. do not supply all of us any safe practices techniques or funds or inspite of. 4. do no longer fall for spams. 5. not in any respect ever use dish-washing gel contained in the garments-washer.

I wouldn't know what to name the thing, yes thing.
But I came to the conclusion that it is an automatic mechanism, which gives you a kind of high, to just simply reproduce.
Without it there would be nobody around.Especially when your young and should be mating, sorry that doesn't sound romantic, but you ask for a scientific explanation. And the funny thing its addictive as people try to get higher and higher, hence perversion.
