You will never know for sure. Give them supermarket shopping vouchers. They will need it.

i love these things. the small water fountains that you can put on a table or wherever you want. or even better, i just received the mist of dreams humidifier for a get well gift. this is sooo cool. it stands on three legs, a cobalt blue bowl and you use tap water and then plug it in somewhere so the baby won't tip it over. as the water warms up a mist starts emitting throughout the room and it looks like a little fog. it looks nice when the lights are off too cause the bowl is lit up.

Never get someone decor for their new home. They will decorate it with their own taste. A few ideas might be:

A nice Wine Basket or Gourmet Coffee Basket
Scented Candles
A Gift Cert would probably be really appreciated
A plant or a fresh bouquet of flowers

We have a 1 year old and when people ask us what we want for a gift for our house, baby, us...ect. we always say for you to babysit!!! We love going out together and its not so easy anymore. Offer them movie tickets or dinner gift cert. so they can enjoy a night out. If you aren't comfy with that, then give them a bottle of Red Wine. That always makes a great gift.

The heck with style... how about getting them something every new homeowner needs :

A wheel barrel filled with useful items for the outside of the home !!

Everyone will be thinking of the INSIDE ! Why not be unique and give a gift that people will be talking about for months !!

Get a wheel barrel. Fill it with a garden hose, work gloves, a rake, a shovel, gas can, pruner shears, and even a few tools such as a hammer and rubber mallet.

The people I give these gifts to about die with joy !!

If you hate that idea... how about a shade TREE.... they can plant it and watch it grow for years to come.

I think a plant, for indoors or their garden would be something they would very much enjoy.
