This weekend I went on a business retreat. After sunday worship I was baptised. I just wanted to share the news with the everyone.I am so excited about my new refound relationship with the Lord. I began one before and I turned my back on Him. Is there any advice anyone has for me on how to remain strong and not waiver in my beliefs? I am starting a new church this week. I pray all the time, without God, I know that nothing is possible. I feel so giddy with excitment, I could burst!

congrats!

Just remember not everyday is going to be as spiritually exciting as your baptism day. And I really like everyone's answers about those little every day things about reading, and praying making all the difference.

Let me add some other thoughts I learned as a missionary. Every new member needs 3 things to stay strong:

1) a friend - someone in your congregation that can answer your questions and support you through everything.

2) a responsibility - seek out some way to serve, or volunteer in your church.

3) to be nourished by the good word of God - that's where the daily studies come in.

best wishes.

Satan may tempt you. "Do you really believe that's all it takes and everything's forgiven?" Yes.

Find a supportive congregation that you can relate to. They won't be perfect - they're just human too - but they'll have a community that welcomes you.

Hebrews 10
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some [is]; but exhorting [one another]: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Welcome to the family!
God bless you.

How exciting. My advice is to read the Bible every day and to pray everyday. Pray for yourself and for others. Be active about telling others what He has done for you. Be faithful to your church and get involved. Remeber that Jesus is your best friend that will never leave you. You do not have to feel Him to know He is there. But, the times when you do feel Him will be awesome!
God bless you as you walk with Him

I'm very happy for you.

As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord [is] gracious.
To whom coming, [as unto] a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, [and] precious, Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. (I Peter 2:2-5)

God bless you

Congratulations and welcome to the family! I have 4 pieces of advice for you: 1)Study your Bible...This will help to strengthen your faith and knowledge of the Lord. 2)Check things out for yourself...If someone tries to teach you something that doesn't agree with what the Bible says, question them about it. Remember, the Bible is the written word of God...false teachers will try to mold it to suit their needs. 3)Love and pray for the sinner..hate the sin. 4)Remember Mark 16:15, "And He said to them, Go into all the world, and give the good news to everyone."

Congratulations! I am so happy for you, my sister. Keep in mind, the devil will work twice as hard now. Jesus said there will be trouble, so be happy. No kidding...look it up! You will not be completely satisfied at any church. There will always be a yearning for the true church. When things get you down, look up. Even Peter, when he was walking on water and began to slip knew who to call for!

Congratulations! I also turned my back on him before. I think the best thing to do to keep strong is to attend a strong Bible believing church and to read your Bible daily.

My pastor once told me how praying was us talking to God, and reading the Bible was one way God talked back.

Put on the Full Armor of God (Ephesians chapter 6) and remain in The Word, day and night.

Thanks for your encouraging words. We can all stand to renew our relationship with the Lord, moment to moment!
