Our neighbors delivered a pumpkin to our 2 year old daughter that they grew themselves. How do I reciprocate this very kind gesture? I'd like to do something special that includes my daughters contribution as well.

Carve the pumpkin with your daughter, decorate it nice & take a nice picture of you all carving the pumpkin & give the picture to your neighbors. Then toast up the pumpkin seeds in your oven (you can find recipes online) & share some of the toasted seeds with your neighbors. :)

What wonderful neighbors you have! When you and your daughter carve the pumpkin, clean and roast the seeds. Put them in a glass jar with a ribbon around it and then you and your daughter can give it to them.

OR - maybe you have something growing in your garden you could share with your neighbor...

OR - maybe next time you make muffins, soup or cookies you could share with your neighbor.

OR - maybe you and your daughter could offer to help in their garden!

Don't feel obligated to immediately reciprocate their generosity, good friends like pretty pumpkins take time, nurturing and effort to yield a healthy crop!

p.s. you are a wonderful mother to be instilling such warm values in your precious child.

Help your daughter make a thank-you card. I'm sure you'll see it posted on their fridge. If you're really inclined to give a gift back - make a pumpkin pie or pumpkin bars. They'll think it's cute and funny.

Something I might do is let your daughter get them A small potted Fall mums for your neighbors to set on their porch and by letting your daughter pick it out she would be helping.

Don't feel like you have you give a gift in return. Simply say thank you.
