i think we dont go because god forgives us for our sins and why would he forgive us then send us to a place to earn his forgiveness if we already have it.

Purgatory is a concept found in Christian society, but is not found in Scripture. Some Christians believe in purgatory because of the traditions of churches, just as they have at various times and places believed in other traditions not found in the Bible, like indulgences, the damnation of unbaptized infants, or handling rattlesnakes and drinking strychnine as a form of worship. Extra-biblical doctrine is found in most if not all churches. Purgatory may not be one of the more harmful of these extra-biblical doctrines, but we should seek the truth as well as we can, and the truth will set us free.

Be like the noble Bereans.

The Bible never mentions the concept of purgatory. It was started by the Caholic church to generate more income. They would sell indulgences so that you could get out of purgatory sooner.

The word Purgatory, just as the word Trinity, does not appear in the Bible, nor is the concept spelled out in detail.

Those who leave this life in the grace of God (what some people called "being saved") but who are not exactly pure of heart and soul are made perfect by Jesus Christ before entering into Heaven.

Catholics call this final justification Purgatory. It is not so much of a place as a process by which the "saved" are made perfect for Heaven.

Purgatory is not a waiting room for heaven. it is like a washing machine for the soul.

There is no such thing as purgatory, The Bible speaks nothing of this fallacy made up by the Catholic Church, Mind you, I do not think that Catholics are bad or anything like that, I think ANYBODY that believes in Jesus and that He died for our sins is going to Heaven no matter what your 'religion' is. So God Bless you all!!!! =)

Read the word of God for yourself. I do not see purgatory mentioned even once. The word of God is true and he promises us that we shall be with him for eternity if we accept Jesus as the Son of God who died for our sins .The word does not say that we have to go to a waiting area . He is a God of love.

If you want answers about religion, don't ask for them here. Go study it out and decide for yourself. "If any of you lack wisdom let him ask of God who giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. (James 1:5) If you sincerely want to know these things the answers are not on Yahoo.
