I've been popping Centrum pills for well over 3 months now, and my sister JUST informed me Centrum Silver (the one ive been taking) is for old people. Is that okay? Dangerous in any way?

it's not that it's going to hurt you, it's just that you aren't getting the balance that (on average) a 19 year old needs.. you might be getting a little too much of some vitamins, not enough of some others.. and (i haven't looked at what Silver has in it) you might be getting a few different vitamins and some not at all.... but no, it's not going to "hurt" you... you just won't get the max benefit.

so you've been raiding your grannies drug cabinet huh, you find anything else good in there? Centrum Silver is formulated, supposedly, for older people, giving them extra vitamins that they need, and less of ones they might not need as much of, you wont hurt anything taking them, but you might not be getting as much of somthing as you need, but it is still better than nothing.

It is not a very good quality vitamin. You should look for a natural multi vitamin like; A Live made by Natures Way. And you should be eating a good healthy diet, check out this site on healthy nutrition.

I dont think it's dangerous for you, just unneccessary. Your body is more able to provide for itself the minerals than someone over 60, for who Silver was intended.

But why didn't you read the label, it says it right there in front?

Not overly dangerous, however only works if your dietry intake is inadequate. There is a risk of over dossing on non fat soluable vitamins like A, however this is extremely rare

I think its OK IMHO because the Silver seems to just REMOVE the Iron. Check the ingredient list to make sure, but I think I am right.

Older people have different specific vitamin needs than younger people. You need more calcium at your age, perhaps, or something like that. In general, a vitamin is a vitamin, and they all do you good.

It doesn't hurt you, it's just not designed for you. Take regular Centrum, it'll do you more good.

If it was dangerous in any way FDA would have taken it off the market!

The only risk you might be facing is an increasing desire to play Bingo...

Yes, it is okay. The only difference is silver has no iron, so make sure you eat plenty of iron related foods.
