my tiba was lifted and 2 pins were placed in it to hold my kneecap in the correct position

the hospital should have put you in touch with a physical therapist, if not then request one.. you don't want to mess up with things of this nature.. that being said the swimming idea above is probably the lowest impact.. but even that could be too much, it's best to work with a physical therapist.

Tai Chi. Any planned movement is exercise, slow continuous movement with zero impact on the knee joint is cake with lots of icing. Try it, you'll like it.

But find a highly skilled instructor, with him or her in your corner, some good tiger balm, you'll enjoy yourself, no worries.

seems like you would have gone to a physicla therapist after this, if not that would be a good place to go to get some exercise ideas or the doctor that did the procedure.
