Well try to sit down and talk with him. Show that you are interested. Point at stuff and call them by name or color. Count some of his toys with him. Color some pages with him and point to the objects in the pictures and have him repeat what it is. Those are some of the things that i have used.

At the age of two, everything is a learning game. Just doing things with him is the best learning he can have now. Have him help you fix lunch, and have him count the forks, spoons, dishes, etc. Go outside and ask him to name the colors he sees or find something that is green. Hi Ho Cherry-Oh is a great counting game you can play together. Any matching games, like Memory, will help his retention. And read to him for 20 minutes a day. As you read, have him point out objects in the book. Where is the duck? What does a dog say? You will have fun and he will learn, and he will think you are the best mom on the planet! Just spend time with your toddler and he will learn from you.

At the age of two every thing is a learning game when my children were this age any thing we did we made it a learning game by asking them questions about what we were doing . My favorite thing to do with them is just sit on the floor and play what they are doing . If you are interested in A toy that teaches I would recomend any thing made by V-SMILE there learning toys are wonderful.

Toddlers and preschools should learn through play but should learn social skills moreso then book skills right now. Try sharing games.

I taught my son sign langauge since we was about 7 months old. He seemed to love it alot and still does it. He is 4 now and we are still learning new signs together.
To make learning fun, you sometimes have to reward them. I made up a chart for my son and everytime he did something on the chart, he got to put a sticker on it. Kids love stickers.
