There's nothing wrong with a bit of onion addiction. It could be worse, you could be addicted to stealing shopping trolleys. Or tuna fish. No one likes fish breath. Perhaps if you surrounded yourself with onions for one day, bathe in them, sleep with some, then you might get fed up of them and move on in life.
Or you could just keep eating them as i don't think its harming anyone. You're probably keeping an onion picker in business.

Well, I'm sure you don't eat them with cake! Although I have seen and tasted onion jam! Seriously, though, onions are very good for you and maybe your body craves them. They are rich in calcium and riboflavin and have healing properties, which you can read for yourself on this link: http://www.indiangyan.com/books/healthbooks/food_that_heal/onion.shtml. But even if it's not a case of your body calling out for some form of healing property, onions are perhaps the most useful vegetable around for giving a taste to savoury food generally and they are very versatile for cooking. There are so many different varieties, too. Why not just settle for eating and enjoying?

Be glad you're addicted to onions and not Twinkies or heroin. Onions are good for you- they kill the bad bacteria in your mouth but leave the good bacteria alone. You probably have a good immune system. Just out of curiosity, do you really eat everything with onions? Like cereal?

My first reaction was too funny, But after thinking about it, i suppose you could be addicted to onions. I put garlic on everything. I just never thought about it as an addiction. You could be addicted to things that are allot worse, So dont sweat the small stuff.

We have a tendancy to crave foods our body needs. Onions are low in calories yet add abundant flavor to a wide variety of foods. With only 30 calories per serving, onions are sodium, fat, and cholesterol free, and provide dietary fiber, vitamin C, vitamin B6, potassium, and other key nutrients.
Higher intakes of fruits and vegetables have been associated with a variety of health benefits. Research shows that onions may help guard against many chronic diseases. That's probably because onions contain generous amounts of a flavonoid called quercetin. Other sources are tea and apples, but research shows that absorption of quercetin from onions is twice that from tea and more than three times that from apples. Studies have shown that quercetin protects against cataracts, cardiovascular disease, and cancer.
In addition, onions contain a variety of other naturally occurring chemicals known as organosulfur compounds that have been linked to lowering blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

I think it is because they add so much flavor to anything you put them in. If they are raw they add a kick and crunchiness and if they are sauteed they add a delicious sweetness and a little texture to the dish. I too use a lot of onions and I love them. I can't eat a cold salad without them. They are good in everything. I guess I have the same problem as you. lol

For awhile when I was a kid I ate peanut butter and miracle whip sandwiches. Or I would just get up in the middle of the night and eat the miracle whip right out of the jar. My mom would eat peanut butter and bologna sandwiches. When people hear that they think I'm gross

In the event that it's a fruit they have seeds, otherwise it's a vegetable. And vegetables are usually grown in the ground while fruits are grown in trees.
