so, when was the last time you did something totally selfless for someone else? something that didn't involve something for you and didn't make you feel good about yourself..................

i mean completely selfless.

to be honest, i can't think of anytime i did something totally selfless!!

wow...that's a hard one. anytime i know i did something to help somebody...i feel good about it,....so i guess that is benefiting huh.?...lol.....you got me on this one......hmm...

I don't understand why people can't think of these things unless they're pretty much like me when I do them--not thinking, just doing. The only reason I remember this is because the person made a big deal out of it--holding a door open when they weren't all the way up to it and had their hands full. I do little things like that all the time, and it doesn't benefit me (personally) one bit. I don't sit in my car afterwards and be like, Sigh. That was nice of me. I'm sure others do things too, and they just don't think about it either. A thing doesn't have to be big to be nice to someone and totally selfless....

We are born selfish people. It's natural. We can do things for others, like buying them things they like, or doing something for them that we don't care to do, but it doesn't mean we are totally selfish when we do it. If our motive is to please the other, then you are doing a good deed.
