As soon as you realise that the kids are showing interest in opposit sex then it is thr right time to talk about it. But make sure that you should not do it too early. The kids may not be able to understand what you are telling and it may turn out be more harmfull then usefull

I'm tell you from experience if you have a girl you should start before 12. Cuz I made a dumb mistake and had sex at an early age which was 12 and got pregnant at 14. Boys you should start as early as 9 or 10 years old. Well that's my imput..

I discuss "life facts" with my kids starting age 3. This doesn't mean I tell them all details at that age, but kids are curious even before they reach grade school. As the kids get older, they ask more complicated questions, then they are ready for more detail.

I think it is best to be open and honest with your children, no matter what the age. I have a 16 y/o and a 13 y/o. I have found that it is a easier to have open and honest conversations with them anytime, rather than try to "schedule" "the talk" with them. I've learned in my years of raising my kids.....Always be prepared for any questions that they come to you with. Always let them know that the door is open when they need to talk to you, and make sure that you follow through with it. And always ask questions. See how much they actually know.... I have found it's easier to have several "small talks"....rather than stressing out over one "BIG TALK"....Good luck!

any age. it all depends what you are telling and how. to a kid of the age of 4 you tell different stuff and in a different way than to a kid who is 12.

We started talking to my sons when they turned 12 which is pretty much when they started getting interested in girls and we still talk about any time we feel there is a need to.

You need to start around four and five with PROPER names of body parts. Around six they need to know where babies come from - the basics. At every year as they mature, you increase the content - you will know by their questions what they want to know - and because you know your child, you will know what is important for them to know. It's important to dispell myths that come with misinformation from other kids - that's from tweens onto teens, especially.
