I've had Polish tradesmen working on my house for just over a week now and I can't praise them highly enough. They are extremely hard working and very polite. Both our societies can benefit from this. They are able to earn up to 10 times what they earn at home and obviously what they are sending back is going to help kick-start their economy. For us the benefit is not only wont there be a shortage of tradesmen but it may cut out a lot of the cowboys who presently take advantage of the situation.
While the British government were lucky in this instance they will ensure we don't have the same mass migration when Roumania and Bulgaria join next year.

I think it's easy to judge them from here in a relatively wealthy society. How would you feel if you had to leave all your family and friends to move to a wealthier country because you can't make ends meet? You can't feed your kids and your sick granny can't afford her medicines? Remember, if things were ok, they wouldn't leave. Just like you don't want to leave because you know if you lose your job you get benefits, so you are not really forced. But them? Their society doesn't look after them. You don't see teenage mums in council houses on benefits for the next 20 years because their society couldn't afford it. So they are decent people who deserve more. And if they can get jobs here then they should be able to better their lives. Remember, they are not trying to live in luxury and be able to afford endless holidays and desinger clothes. They just simply want to live. And when they send the money home, it gets spent on basic things such as paying an electricity bill or finally getting that operation that grandad has been waiting for and even new shoes for little nephew and not on life's little luxuries. It may not benefit the polish economy at all, but it may fill in some holes.

Things can only get (albeit SLIGHTLY better in poland)
Remember lots of the ££'s earned here is SENT BACK

My mate does this, Top Man for doing it as well,
Says he likes it here, but Poland is his home,
once he gets enougth or Poland Gets better
he'll go home to his family.
Fair Play.
Umm INCOME TAX is paid, just not any VAT because the money isnt spent here.....

Improved their trading balance and help the dependants of the new arrivals.
The Polish Nation has suffered the most in Europe and the treatment handed out to them by Germany and Russia gives them the right to be where ever they choose in my opinion.
If only we were as patriotic as they!
Anyway we helped each other in the past and they are friends.

man, i wish we could get some of those poles here in the states, not only are the chicks hot, they are smart and hardworking and would be an asset as legal immigrants. Its not gonna happen though, they would end up taking the good jobs here too, and making both the illegal mexicans look bad and the lazy americans who lost their jobs to someone who appreciated having a job.
