Are you in/from India looking for scholarships in India? Or are you in the US looking for scholarships for study abroad in India? Can't help you with the first one and this is probably the wrong place to be asking but, if you are in the US and looking to go study abroad in India, you can qualify for either merit base or financial need base scholarships. If your school has an agreement with the India school you're going to, in most cases, you can apply for aid here and have it apply for the year you're away. Otherwise, the other thing to do is to look for scholarships offered for students studying abroad. Most of them require that you study in the US but if the two schools have an agreement you sometimes can apply it for the study abroad time.
Some schools consider their students automatically for scholarships others are first come first served with deadlines so you need to turn in applications and essays. Try fastweb.com and your financial aid advisor.
