I'm trying to establish the costs involved in having a baby - does anyone know how much it costs roughly per week or month for childcare for a baby under 1 year and a mother working approx 35 hours per week? Costs for nursery and childminder would be useful
thanks
K

My daughter is a nursery nurse and her nusery in Beckenham charge approximately £100 per week - full time.

As far as bonding goes, I don't believe that leaving a child in a nursery can hurt them, whilst I did not leave either of my children, times are very different now.

Nursery education, even for under 5's is very good, with some, including my daughters, teaching the young child French.

Whilst the choice is your's I do not see any harm - it's a question of choice and of course money.

i don;t know about croydon but here in south wales it is £35 per day, you may find you are better off working part time by the time you have paid childcare, see if you can claim child tax and working tax credits, that would help

i'm uncertain approximately your section yet I recommend getting the telephone e book and ringing around each and all the nurseries for rates. Childminders are extra low-fee than nurseries yet you will desire to discover a registered childminder. you may get this by utilising phoning social centers and that they are going to deliver you a listing of childminders which you would be able to telephone and bypass to. P's, I stay in Scotland so England and Wales is probable somewhat diverse.

babies should not be in child care... the most formative years are 0-5 as such they learn bonding skills and more in those first years.. kids dumped in day cares do not learn such things.. and the busyness of day cares often contributes to attention deficeit and other stresses.. kids get more colds, more flues, more head lice when in day cares and more emotional issues...

parents should work out a system where one parent is at home - so either this means one parent stops working, or they work opposite shifts, or one works part time, or works out of the home..

you dont NEED a fancy new car as much as a baby NEEDS a parent to be home with it.. the cost of day care is high.. not just financially - but emotionally to your kid in the long run.. plus you need to make considerably more money to pay for the day care and expenses of work to justify it...

the real cost is what it does to your kid....
