Oh, I am so sorry for your loss.
I agree with Dale. You might very well have a claim against the vet, although I know that won't bring your baby back. Still, he not be allowed to get away with such incompetence and it may save future dogs from such incompetent treatment. He should never have let your dog come home after being bitten by such a poisonous snake and he should not have told you that the dog was going to be fine.
I really am sorry.

Sorry for your loss. How very sad.
First thing to do is request copies of the medical records for that night and take them to another vet. Have that vet read them over and give you more advise on the medical aspect of your dog's case, then proceed depending on what that vet says. It may have been that there was nothing else to do. I'm not familiar with night adders and a dog's tolerance for their venom, but I think that the doctor should have warned you that if there was a good chance he might not make it.
It's still difficult to sue vets. You have to prove wrongdoing. Most places still consider pets to be property and you only get back what you paid for the animal in court. Some judges will award "pain and suffering" but not all of them.
Good Luck, and again, sorry about your doggie.
BTW, You don't check the mouth or throat to check breathing, you listen with a stethoscope. You hear heart and lungs with it.

Oh I so sorry for you. I agree, the vet let your dog down. I had a similar experience with a cat that I felt the vet let die. There is nothing that you can do, except change vets for others pets if you have or will get them.
It may make you feel better to express yourself to the Vet but do it in a letter, that way you won't have to listen to his side. That won't be beneficial to you.

I have seen similar cases on the Court Shows on TV and you just might have a good case for small claims.
But I know that the money isn't going to bring you dog back, but at least you can have the satisfaction of making the Vet. pay for his mistake, which is better than just ignoring the matter and letting him get away with his "crime".

this could point out that she replaced into stored in constrained situations and had no environmental enrichment. this is often considered in canines that have become so bored that one and all they could do is chase the tail all day and maximum finally end up chewing it. It will become a typical habit and the dogs will proceed to do it in spite of if rehomed. The unusual little bit of tail chasing is okay yet doing all of it day isn't widely used. Get her a brilliant cover bite and a few toys (stressful ones in any different case they wont final 5 minutes!) to offer her with some thing to do. Kong stuff-a-ball are good because of the fact the dogs has to head it around to get nutrients/treats out. i could recommend you communicate to a behaviourist.
